Vertical Grain VG Douglas Fir
Much of the Douglas Fir that we keep in stock has a grade of #2 Clear. This high end VG Fir is most commonly used by window and door manufacturers for several reasons. The very tight grain provides added strength as well as a uniform colour and texture. And the limited amount of defects greatly reduces waste and time because you are not busy cutting around defects.

We regularly cut 1", 2", and 3" thicknesses of vg Fir from 6", 8", and 10" cants, with the lengths ranging from 7' to 20'. There are typically 5/4", 6/4", 10/4", and 16/4" thicknesses in stock, but it would be best to arrange ahead of time (1-2 weeks minimum) when ordering large volumes of any dimension.
