This is our highest quality fir flooring. It is easy to see why this VG Fir flooring has been used in some of the most beautiful heritage homes in British Columbia. Few flaws are found in this tight ring Vertical Grain Douglas Fir. Lengths range from 18" to 8' and average 4'.

Flooring Design Specs
Widths are measured by the rough material from which they were cut, not the finished face size. For example, a 3" material will have a 2 1/8" face. The remainder allows for cutting the tongue and removing as many defects as possible.

Flooring is typically finished at 3/4" thick, and the underside is relieved to reduce cupping and checking. Thicker sizes are available.

The ends of the material are not end-matched. Meaning, they will need to be trimmed and then butted end to end. This is not a problem, because there will be no end movement once the flooring is stapled down and sanded.

Tips when Ordering Wood Flooring
- Allow 5-10% waste for a select grade and 10-15% for cottage grade.
- Shorter lengths or narrower widths will save you money on per-square-foot costs, but will increase the installation time.
- Ask about our delivery services.
- Allow 7-10 days lead time for production
- Stack the flooring in the room that it is to be laid 10-14 days before installing to climatize the wood to it's new environment.
- Vertical Grain flooring will stand up to wear and abuse longer than Flat Grain
