Vertical Grain / Edge Grain.
The grain runs perpendicular to the board face, creating a uniform pattern on either face.VG can also be on a 45 degree angle, which is preferred in some situations. Any less of an angle is considered Mixed Grain or Flat Sawn.
Sizes 4/4, 5/4, 6/4, 7/4, 8/4, etc.
Measurements are in 1/4 inch increments.
For example: 1/4 = 1/4", 2/4 = 1/2", 8/4 = 2"
NOTE: Our tally's are net, not green. This means that you are not paying for green 8/4 that comes out of the kiln shrunk to 7/4. We resaw our material 1/4 inch oversized, which gives you a full dimension 8/4 after being kiln dried. So, when you pay for 8/4, you get 8/4.
C' Select
Allows for some defects (like knots) and pitch pockets.
#2 Clear

For example: S2S is planed on both faces, and S4S is planed on both faces and both edges.
